The address of the Ventrilo server has changed!

For some reason MaximumVoice decided not to automatically repay the bill for the Ventrilo server, so it went unpaid and the server died!

So I got on there and paid the bill, so now the Ventrilo server is back up.  HOWEVER, the port number has changed.

Hostname: voice-dallas.maximumvoice.com

Port: 43965

I’m paying for this server out of my own pocket, so any contributions to help pay for this are greatly appreciated.

Also, I should start being around a lot more.  Not sure if that’s a good thing or a bad thing…

Kerbal Space Program Competition

Kerbal Space Program is a space ship simulating game that is currently under development.  Using basic building blocks you can create a multi-stage rocket and attempt to send it into orbit all while ensuring that the Kerbal astronauts inside stay alive!  What seems simple becomes hilarious when your rocket tilts off axis and comes slamming down back to Earth.  Or if you are even less fortunate your rocket may explode as soon as you attempt liftoff!

So, Deep Games will be hosting a Kerbal Space Program competition!

zDoom Wars

No, it’s not a shitty Halo Wars ripoff, but it is a first person Doom RTS game, and we’re going to fucking play it. The objective? Kill the other players. The method? Spawn massive  amounts of units from whatever Doom faction you so choose (featuring Doomguy, Corvus from Heretic, Daedolon from Hexen, Strifeguy, Chexwarrior, and some C375 virus spaceship thing). Each race has two unique tech trees of units, often with unit upgrades, multiple hero units, and the game actually requires SOME strategy, although not enough to make the game stupid and impossible.

I nicknamed this Prism Rape.

This game seems like it would be amazing with 6 or more people all spamming units (imagine 12 people all spawning a unit per second). There can be maps a lot larger than the one in the screenshot, so there’s never a worry for space. Anyways, we’re going to try and get a group going to play this, because it’s goddamn amazing. So to install it, you’ll need Skulltag, doom2.wad, and the files to turn it into zDoomWars, which I will link riiiight here:

Download Links: Skulltag, doom2.wad, zDoom Wars
As an alternative to getting doom2.wad, you can also get a pack which includes all commercial Doom wads here.

Just install Skulltag, put doom2.wad where ever you want Skulltag to detect it, and dump the files from zDoomWars directly into your Skulltag directory (that means no subfolders).

Strifeguy blasts away some NOOB spammer faggot.

Blitz is hosting a 24/7 server right now (it’s name is BBB), and if no one is in there it should at least default to bots. But it seems as if quite a few random internet faggots actually have this and pop in and out of the server. The map seen in the screenshots is the best one we’ve played so far, so until Blitz comes around it will most likely be stuck on it. Regardless, it’s a lot of fun and I suggest you give it a try, maybe even play a few games with us!

Just a word of advice, make sure you bind your controls correctly. Movement controls are probably already bound by default, but you WILL need to be able to jump, left click should spawn things and mouse wheel or number keys selects what to spawn, and make sure to bind a key to view your tech tree (this is very important, or you wont’ have any idea how to get new units). It’s found at the very bottom of the controls menu under zDoomWars.

The Ventrilo server is down! Use this temporary server!

Take a look at

The Dallas server, which is the server hosting our Ventrilo server, is down.  Maximum Voice has set up a temporary server to use until the Dallas server is brought back online. Until the Dallas server comes back up, you can find us at.

New Streamer app:Modori

We just received a new streamer application from Modori.  For some reason he decided to submit his application 3 times, but oh well.

Name:
Modori

E-mail:
[removed]

Age:
Yes, 16 almost 17.

What types of games and what systems:
Mainly PC games. When my new PC arrives I will be able to install a Capture Card to stream Xbox 360 games.

Want a list of games, let me know.

Streaming experience:
I have streamed before yes, over at JackmanGames www.livestream.com/jmgames
(I changed my username just after I made it, to stop confusion to my YouTube fans)

History:
When I was like 10 – 11, I was totally fascinated by the stream. Then when I was about 13 – 14 – 15 I kinda lost interest in the stream. Now I came back to the stream and I already know that I will love this stream all over again.

Why they should stream:
I want to stream (not for attention like most people do) to entertain. I try to entertain my viewers in any ways I can. Sometimes I will (if I am accepted) is to allow the viewers to choose the game for me to play (Viewers Choice) so they aren’t stuck with the games that the streamers choose to play all the time. The viewers can vaguely be involved with the stream.

Anything else they wanted to add:
1. Jackman, was my old username, before I changed it to Modori (because people were thinking I was High Jackman from the X-Men movies, I had enough of that, so I changed to Modori.)

2. I have a microphone, but I haven’t tried using it while streaming. When I can, I will test the microphone out while streaming (it works on Steam and Skype so I think it will be ok.)

Want some more information about something, let me know. I will answer as soon as I can if you have any questions that you might have.
